COMMODORE RAHUL SHARMA

Commodore Rahul Sharma is an alumnus of the 52^nd Naval Academy Course. He was commissioned in the Electrical Branch of the Indian Navy on 01 Jul 97. He had an exposure on weapons and sensors as commissioning WMO of the first Barak and AMDR inducted into the IN on INS Ganga and as commissioning DLO/ALO (GG) of INS Shivalik.

The officer has also done two tenures at ND(V) in which he has tenanted duties of Dy Manager Weapons as a Lt Cdr and as DGM(MAT), DGM(COM)and DGM(W)as a Captain.During his tenure at IHQ in DEE as JDEE (NS) he had steered CMS and SDN development and its migration from ATM to Gbe backbone, development of the first Link-II Mod-III. The officer has executed administrative role of Executive Officer of INS Tunir.Wherein, he had looked at safety, security aspects of the Naval Station Karanja apart from aspects of morale and day to day functioning of the unit. He was awarded Lt VK Jain Gold Medal in 2008 for developing PCB repair software for DI on PCBs of SRGM and MRK 50 Radar on an ATE and for commissioning of USSR era liability of AK 176 and AK 630 Test Beds at WECORS/ ND (V). In his last appointment at NHQ/ PMG CMS, he steered mass induction of various CMS projects on existing and new induction ships.
The officer is married to Comdt Mrs Lalima Sharma (Retd), ICG Veteran (Pensioner). The couple has a son named Amolak Sharma, studying at IIM, Rohtak.The officer is keenly interested in sailing, trekking and gardening.
